Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington resides in the US. She is a Greek-American author, syndicated writer of columns and a businesswoman. She is the author of fifteen books. She is also the co-founder of The Huffington Post. Arianna Huffington has worked as an actor, journalist, philanthropist and author for more than 10 years. She is also the owner of The Huffington Post, an free-of-cost online news magazine. Born in Greece and relocated to England at age 16. In Cambridge University, she graduated with a MA of Economics. The first non-English student to graduate, she was elected president of The Cambridge Union' at the age of 21. Following graduation, she left her name as columnist in the conservative syndicated media as well as with the introduction of The Huffington Post' few years later, she developed a voice-based website that gave critical opinions about the current political climate. The fame of her name helped by attracting a variety of high-profile contributors to post their views on news, politics, and other topics. Arianna's popularity began in 2003, when she became an independent candidate in the California recall vote in order to replace then-Governor Davis. She also headed an Detroit energy-efficient vehicle project. Forbes identified her as the most influential woman in the field of media in the year 2009. The newspaper was ranked as 12th on the ranking. The Guardian also included her to the list of top 100 media in 2009. In 2011 AOL Inc. purchased The Huffington Post and made her president of that media group which included many then-existing AOL properties too such as Engadget AOL music Style list and Patch Media. Her parents were journalist and manager Konstantinos and his wife Elli Stasinopoulos. Although she had a close connection to her mother and father but it was their connection that shaped her. Even in her formative age, she displayed the qualities of a leader for which she's still known. When she moved to England, she was 16 to continue her education and was enrolled into Girton College Cambridge. She was a member of Cambridge Union, the Cambridge Union college debate society throughout her college years, where she was the third female to hold the position of the president. She graduated in 1972 with the degree of Master in Economics. She worked as a critic television host, as well as a columnist following her graduation. In addition, along with Bernard Levin she appeared on an episode of Face the music.
